Montreal Metro & Bus Transit App Reviews

free version stinks, no way I’d trust the paid

Where to start? If you click “search” in the app and type in P L A C, it returns the top hit as “Place-des-Arts”, wonderful, this is near my hotel and when I click on the link the message returned is “Not found: Your search did not return any results”… Not enough? Okay, Clicking on the “trips” tab opens up a surface map of Montreal that not only does not show the Metro lines, but does not even show the locations of the stations. I had hoped to use this as an off-line solution to the Montreal STM, but it apparently has zero functionality w/out a network, unlike 100% of the other metro system apps I’ve used. I really don’t know what the developers were thinking. Do yourself a favor and use Google Maps.

Excellent

Very good

Best Montreal Metro app yet

The app is not overloaded with features, but is super fast and responsive and is the only one that gives you metro and busses in your surrounding - and updates if you move around in real time. Second cool feature - works in the metro do to offline capability. Waiting for some more features like Bixi integration, but it definitely the one app i am going to use daily.

Awesome!!!

Best app ever for metro and bus schedule so far. Cool design, simple to use. Before I knew this app, I used some other ones. But this is the best of all.

Awesome work

Very well done piece of work. Thank you for making my life and many others easier by this app. Keep it up!

Slick an Nice

Wow, this is an awesome app, very clean, essential in Montreal! Thanks RFx for this great app!

Great app!

Useful, fast, location based information about buses and metros in Montreal! And the best: its free! Definitely recommended!

Nice and Practical

Very good UI and easy to use, summarizes the info you need. It would be nice to have Bixi integration as well.

Great app, fast, without hang ups

Finally an app that works, does not hang all the time, with a fast response time, an with the localization activated it evens determines the beat connections for you. Very nice job!!!

Love this

Perfect, thanks a lot.

Fix it!

The concept is terrific, the constant crashing is driving me to delete this app very soon! Worked once since install, every other attempt has resulted in hang up!

Amazing

This was an amazing app its so helpfull! Thank you so much for making it!

Files out of date

The bus numbers 110 and 195 have been changed to 495 and 496 This is not properly reported

Great app.

So easy to use. Now you will never miss your transportation.

So apparently people only travel in Montreal…

I am extremely disappointed in Apple. I really depended on Google maps to get me to places from Laval to Montreal and vice versa. Its bad enough that there are no service for Canadian maps in the map app for IOS 6, but then suggesting that people use this app which is almost useless for people living off island who are trying to get to school and work in Montreal. (Ex, no indication of STL buses going into Montreal ). Two useless navigation apps for me.

One of the less bad transit app.

The app name is well chosen (Metro & Bus) because infortunately, it does not support trains so it end up suggesting me 2h routes that I could do in 35 minutes with the AMT train. Another frustrating aspect of this app is that favorites must be bus stops, not addresses. What if I have four bus stops near my home?

This app is not good

They use a map of the Montreal metro to trick us in thinking that its an app by STM. They say its free but as soon as you want direction you need to pay. And the app does not work well. Dont waste your 2.99 dollar on this.

Good app

The app does exactly as advertised, it helps to find nearby stations and with the schedule for STM busses and the metro in Montreal. An additional trip planner feature is available for purchase. Sure, Id like this to be free as well but I totally understand that an infrastructure for such a feature costs money and IMHO they are not asking for a lot for that. The results could be better and there are probably occasions where the search does not return an optimal result but after using the app for a couple of days now and Im happy with it. And seriously, the amount theyre asking for is in the vicinity of half a cappuccino at Second Cup. Apple has received a lot of bad press for their maps and apps that use the underlying API face the same challenges. Only those cannot be overcome by the app easily, as the framework has to improve. So in light of this, this one goes out to all I hate the new apps advocates: Stop trashing app developers and stop your ignorant quest of hurting people without having anything constructive to say. Criticism is great, especially constructive criticism. Usually great improvements result from this. Think about yourself for a bit and think about how make things better!

Dissapointed

The only app Apples new maps tries to give direction within the Montreal transit system. This app always prompts to buy other apps without any results. Can even write a review to their built in "review feature". Went back to Googles web based Maps. RG :_(

Practically useless.

As one of the first to be suggested by Apple Map, it is just as disappointing as The Apple map is. Youll get more lost using it than asking a passerby how to get where you want to go. Yeah back Google map.
